He Created Me to Be by Nickie Wheeler

He created me to be! Life on the road!

This summer has taken near and far, from the coastline of France at Omaha beach to the shores of Deep Creek Lake in Maryland and may places in between. My life is full of travels, for work and play. The one consistent theme is that it gives me the opportunity to share my Joy and Hope that I have found a child of Christ. I am not a big time in your face” religious” kind of person, I am more laugh out loud, giggle and have fun in the face of challenges type of gal! Offering Hope and Joy as part of who God created me to be. I try to stay out of the ‘drama” that can wear me down. I do this by focusing on the one thing God has told me over and over. You are the Joy of my life, spread the Hope I share with you to others through your actions. Be the friend they need when they need it! Don’t shy away from the difficult, stay away from the tangles that can weigh you down. Wow that’s a lot and what does that have to do with travel. Well if you have ever traveled you know tension can rise, people get irate, you can easily overlook the amazing when looking for the “entitled”! I look at my journey and opportunities as just that a way to learn more about people, smile more, give more, and do more. Now that’s a lot to do on “vacation” the key is to just enjoy the moment, rest in where you are, don’t race ahead, laugh, giggle, try something new, talk to someone you don’t know, be the light in the dark. Walking along the streets of New Orleans recently with some friends, they totally avoided any contact with the “homeless”, saying they are dangerous…well maybe, but a smile and few kinds words will not make someone act dangerously towards you. It’s my smile they say, it gives hope even if you don’t say a word, its why they seek you out, its why strangers talk to you, its seeing the light inside you that is the Holy Spirit. It’s not me who does it; it is Him who lives in me. A smile tells someone all is not hopeless, you are worth something, can you imagine if no smiled at you? Your reflection of yourself would be so sad, we tend to reflect back what we see, so smile more, talk more, spread the Hope and Joy that you have inside you. It costs nothing and the reward you receive is hard to describe! Here you go! Thanks for the opportunity! love, Nickie
