I Love Me! by Carrie Fisher

I Love Me! by Carrie Fisher

When’s the last time you looked in the mirror and smiled at yourself? Do you find it hard to love yourself? If so, you are not alone. Many women often struggle with low self-esteem and identity issues. They feel unloved and find it hard to accept themselves. They tend to let what others say or think about them define who they are.

The most common cause for low self-esteem is the influence society places on physical appearance. If you don’t look or dress a certain way, you are deemed as unacceptable and looked down upon. Look in any fashion magazine, and you will see just how much emphasis is put on outer beauty and appearance. It’s all about having the perfect weight or shape, the right color or style, or the perfect smile. No wonder so many women are struggling with self-esteem and identity issues. They just want to fit in and feel like they matter.

I struggled for many years with low self-esteem. I wouldn’t look in a mirror. By society’s standards, I was a misfit. I was called every name imaginable by my peers, and even my teachers. I felt ugly and unwanted. In my eyes, I was a worthless nobody. I wasted many years feeling sorry for myself. That is until I discovered just how beautiful and special I truly am in God’s eyes. It isn’t about what others think or say about me. It is all about how God sees me, and what His Word says about who I am. I love me!!

If you are feeling worthless and like you have no value, there is hope and healing. There is freedom in knowing who you are in Christ. You are not an accident or a misfit. God loves you and has great plans for your life. You too can look in the mirror and say, I love me! Surround yourself with people who will build you up and encourage you. YOU ARE WONDERFULLY BEAUTIFUL!!
