Lord, Teach Me to “LET GO of the Pencil” and Let You “Write My Story”!

If you are like me there are times when you struggle with letting, go and letting God lead the way. Frustration, fear, uncertainty or lack of being in control can lead to grabbing the pencil right out of God’s hand. Thankfully, he has a strong grip and never truly let’s go.

As an avid book reader, I am always amazed how an author weaves a story. There are ups and downs, sadness, laughter, love and yet each chapter brings adventure, revelation, hope and solutions.

If we are honest with ourselves, our lives are very much like a story. Weaved throughout our lives are people, places, adventures and the unexpected.

I believe this is why we need to let God guide us through our life story. Everything God creates is well thought out and created to express his goodness and nature. Allowing God to write out your story line will enable you to live a more satisfied life. It will strengthen you when the unexpected comes along and anchor you in the storm. You will be more relaxed and will enjoy the little things that life has to offer.

So, the next time you want to “Grab the Pencil” remember God wants your story to be a best seller so why not let him write it!
