Offense Can Railroad Your Purpose for the Day by Kathy Cobb

Finding and sticking to your purpose can be elusive at times. Every one of us experiences those moments in life where we are blinded by unexpected situations. Being caught off guard can railroad our heart and emotions. Many times, we can’t see beyond the confusion of being slammed or misunderstood.

What you do right after the offense is CRITICAL to your well-being!

Offense can Railroad your Purpose for the Day! It is in the moment of the offense that you need to take the High Road! Will it be easy? NO!

If you find yourself going through a relationship challenge, here are a few things I do to help me recover quickly:

  • ask Jesus to bring light into the situation
  • speak freely about your feelings to Him
  • allow Him to heal your heart so you can let go of the offense
  • ask for guidance in how to handle the situation
  • forgive the person who offended you
  • trust God to direct your footsteps

Learning to let go of an offense is truly a blessing for your life.  When you do, you will live a more peaceful life and experience the joy of life that God has placed before you!
