Solid Foods Galore by Brittany Nelson

Solid Foods Galore by Brittany Nelson

The avocado was puréed, the iPhone was in video mode, and my baby had on a cute bib. It was time to try his first solids!

A baby’s first spoonful of solid food is a milestone that many parents look forward to. I couldn’t wait! I started searching the Internet to find which foods are best to try first. The more I looked into solids, however, the more confused I became. Should you start solids at 4 or 6 months? Do you really need to buy organic? Is it better to make your own food or buy the jars? Should you try baby led weaning?

What I’ve found is that when it comes to babies, there is not one right answer. Every baby is unique and every mom is different too!

I decided to delay solids until 6 months and start with purées. I make my own baby food, but did buy some jars in case we are traveling or I don’t have food prepared.

I wanted to share with you a product I use that has simplified the process of making baby food and made it cheaper! It’s called the Baby Bullet.

I originally tried to use a regular food processor to make my baby food, but the consistency just wasn’t right. The Baby Bullet is easy to use and makes your purée the perfect consistency! I used it first to make zucchini, which was a huge hit with my baby.

The best part about the Baby Bullet is that it comes with much more than just a basic blender. It has two different blades depending on the consistency you need for the recipe. It also has little jars to store food in the fridge and a silicone tray you can use to freeze portions for use later. It makes it easy to make a big batch so you’re always prepared!

As a mom, I don’t have a lot of free time so I always try to find ways to complete tasks more quickly and this product really helps. If you know a new mom who wants to make her own baby food, I would highly recommend the Baby Bullet as a gift!
