At daybreak your feet hit the ground and off you go running. Family responsibilities, carpooling, traffic, deadlines, and commitments sometime leave an individual feeling overwhelmed. As your day unfolds, you overhear whispers of discontent and words of frustration seem to flow from the lips of family, friends, and coworkers. Oh, what some of us would do to hear a pleasant word throughout the day!

Pleasant words are good for the body, soul, and spirit. They penetrate the depths of our soul, soothe areas of insecurities, and bring a smile to those around us. Over time pleasant words can even help with the process of healing emotional wounds.

Thankfully, God has placed individuals in our lives who understand people need encouraging. We all have friends who know just the right words to say that brighten our day and who will bring joy into our lives. What sets them apart? Could it be carefully chosen words, a mindset, or an attitude of appreciation? Pleasant words are like joy bullets to our psyche, which are filled with encouragement, kindness, and thankfulness. On impact joy bullets move you from frustration to hope. It takes practice to look at life through pleasant words, but the effort is worth the outcome, and you will find that in the midst of your day peace, hope and joy will be evident.

So tomorrow morning when your feet hit the ground remember pleasant words which are like honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones. Proverbs 16:3
