Recently, it was brought to my attention that many of you were feeling discouraged in life. My heart aches when I believe that God’s beloved are being bombarded with feelings of hopelessness. Please read my thoughts below. I hope that this letter will encourage you today!  – Kathy Cobb

 

Greetings Dear Sisters around the Globe!

I am blessed when I think about how God has united us through His son, Jesus! It is through the precious gift of His friendship that we celebrate His goodness and love as sisters in Christ.

Even though we are across the world from each other, one thing never changes – our love for the Lord and the hope we place in Him to help us in our daily lives. As His daughters, we are blessed because God loves to communicate with us and is eager to hear our prayers and to teach us how to live in His peace in a world full of surprises.

The Lord wants you to know, dear one, that you are deeply loved. He longs to develop a loving relationship with you so He can teach you how to live a full life through His Holy Spirit. As you develop a friendship with the Lord, He will teach you how to direct your life in a way that will inspire you to grow emotionally and spiritually! As you learn to talk to God, He is faithful to give you direction and answers in every circumstance. Listening to God and following His instruction will enable you to live a more peaceful life.

 

But what do we do when life is difficult, challenging and things do not seem to change?

We all have difficult situations to deal with, and when change does not come, our hearts often become discouraged. When discouragement sets in, the enemy of our soul begins to tell us there is no hope. The enemy’s desire is for us to focus on the negative and believe change is not possible in our circumstances. In times of struggle, we find ourselves doubting if we even have the courage to make wise decisions that will allow change. Frustration, fear, hopelessness, and anxiety are often companions with the spirit of discouragement. This combination often causes us to focus on the “situation” rather than God’s guidance.

Through the years, I have learned when I feel discouraged it usually means I am looking outside of my relationship with God for answers. I am not saying that answers cannot come from other sources, but when you feel discouraged, you need to be Lifted Up by the Lord. You need a word of encouragement or instruction from the one who knows your true identity. It is in those quiet times you will receive a Liberating Touch from God. Sharing your heart and learning to listen to Him will allow the Lord to minister to you through the power of the Holy Spirit. His Spirit lifts your continence, encourages your soul, and enables you to let go of fear, anxiety and discouragement. It is through your relationship with Him that you will receive peace, hope and the answers you so desire!

When you feel discouraged and need a touch from above, consider praying the prayer below. As you pray, add your thoughts and let God know how you are really feeling. It is just the two of you so there is NO FEAR, NO JUDGEMENT because God wants to heal your emotions and give you strength in every situation with which you are faced! Remember, take the time to listen to God and you will find that discouragement leaves your emotions and peace fills your body, soul and spirit! Small prayers spoken from your heart are MIGHTY in God’s eyes. So begin today, share your heart and watch God move on your behalf!

Dear Lord,

I need a touch from you to help me in this season of my life. There are circumstances around me that require your insight and wisdom. Discouragement has set in and I struggle with the feelings of hopelessness. Help me Lord, to see beyond my circumstances so I can live my life filled with peace. Lord,fill my heart with your truth so I may embrace the life you have designed for me, not what man has declared over me.

Lord, help me to understand that I was not designed to live in fear and discouragement but to live in peace and joy. Help me grasp the truth that I am equipped to be an over-comer in every situation.

Lord, give me the courage to look within my heart and help me to uncover the lies that prevent me from living a fulfilled life in the midst of confusion and uncertain times.

I am so grateful, Lord, that you hear my heart. I trust you, Lord. I open my heart to receive your instruction. Lord, highlight scriptures that will feed my soul and allow me to be filled with your perfect peace. Thank you for loving me and teaching me your ways so that I can continue to make healthy choices and changes that will produce a peaceful life. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Remember, when the enemy speaks lies to you, pray this prayer and give thanksgiving because the Lord is the true lover of your soul and is committed to seeing you walk in strength and peace all the days of your life!
