There are Moments When I Say to My Mind, “Shut Up”! by Kathy Cobb

Does this happen to you? You are beginning to struggle with a situation and out of thin air comes a nasty memories of past and present insecurities. They creep in and bang, your anxiety level rises. You may feel like crying or you shut down all emotional circuits.

We can all agree that Struggles are not easy. Struggles cause all kinds of insecurities to arise. Fear usually drives our struggles and cripples our thinking. Fear has a way of making us anxious, which leads us into an array of unhealthy emotions. Out of control emotions make our struggles worse and keep us from seeing the bigger picture.

I don’t know about you, but when this happens, I get feisty with myself and fight back. I start the “self talk”. (Yes, I do have a few things I say to myself). It may take me a moment to recognize what’s happening, but once I am aware, I am determined to get a hold of my emotions and address the struggle. Awareness is a good thing to tap into when you are in the moment of reacting. It is the beginning of moving forward.

Awareness is a powerful tool to behold, especially if you have a relationship with God. You see, when my mind tries to railroad me, God reminds me about how much I have grown since he enter my life. God and I have shared many hours “God Therapy” working on my insecurities. He has helped me to understand myself better, what’s behind my weaknesses and how to apply my strengths in a struggle. This combination has grounded me to respond and recover a lot faster.

You may not have realized it yet, but God wants the same for you. In fact, God is all about you being emotionally healthy and strong. You just need to take the first step by asking him for help. Once you have worked through the roller coaster of emotions, you be will better equipped for the next struggle you encounter.

Learning to share my heart with God has been one of my biggest blessings. It has given me the ability to remain stronger during my times of struggle. Another great perk, it has made a better friend to myself and to others.

How am I able? God Made Me Better ~♥️♥️
