The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him. The LORD is the strength of his people, a fortress of salvation for his anointed one.
– Psalm 28:7-8

Early on in my walk, this scripture was a lifeline for me. When adversity came my way, I would envision God holding my hand and encouraging me to face my fears. His word and promise empowered confidence and helped me conquer many fears.

Does fear control your life?

Admitting that you are fearful is the first step to freedom. God promises to help you defeat fear and its emotional power over you. To begin this process, activate your faith by declaring out loud – God is holding my right hand and His confidence is leading me out of fearful living. 

By declaring, you have begun the process of forging a new path for yourself; a path that is no longer controlled by fear, but by joy. Then start having that conversation with yourself about fear. Ask yourself, what am I afraid of and why? What’s the reason behind my fear? What steps do I need to take to confront it? Answering these questions will help you sort out your feelings and move you a step closer to living free from fear. You just need to grab God’s hand and start the process.

As for me, I am still holding God’s hand. He has always been my strength, comfort, and confidence. With Him, I am strong. Without Him, I would be a hot mess!! Thankfully, God knows what we need and He never let’s go!
